The Seal Coating crew is an essential component of Coastal Asphalt, ensuring the longevity and quality of various pavement projects by applying protective coatings which seal current asphalt forms away from harmful elements. This position will operate alongside numerous crew members and under the direct daily supervision of a Foreman who provides guidance and feedback for all sealcoating projects. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who values safety and collaboration as top priorities to serve as a member of the Coastal Asphalt family!
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all workspaces remain clean and free of hazards and debris at all times
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Perform daily tasks assigned by crew leader and Foreman correctly and promptly
- Implement corrections given from crew leader and Foreman
- Unload and load materials and equipment prior to beginning each project and upon exiting the jobsite
- Report all injuries, accidents, regulatory violations, and safety concerns to crew leader or Foreman
- Operate equipment properly and according to safety standards to perform required tasks including but not limited to hand squeegees, spray wands, sweepers, blowers, line stripers, crack kettle, push cart applicators and patching

- Perform sealcoating, asphalt preparation, and asphalt repair labor according to company and customer standards for quality and safety
- Properly power off all equipment and ensure all tools are collected and securely fastened in company vehicles upon project completion
- Report all absences to crew leader or Foremen at least 24 hours prior to missing work

- Must utilize proper communication with co-workers, office personnel, customers and suppliers
Position Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with the flexibility to travel to various job sites within South Carolina and surrounding areas if necessary
- Minimum of 2 years of seal coating experience preferred
- Traffic control experience preferred
- Must pass an authorized drug test prior to employment
- Must possess a driving record that meets company standards
- Must meet company employment requirements including but not limited to background checks
- Must agree to adhere to Drug-Free Workplace requirements including post-accident and random drug testing
- Must maintain a good attendance and safety record
- Must have the ability to carry and lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach with hands and arms, crouch and kneel as required
- Must be able to enter and exit equipment safely
