Fueling Laborer

Job Description
The fueling laborer supports Coastal Asphalt truck drivers by inspecting and safely fueling dump trucks and lowboys as needed. The fueling laborer is an essential component of Coastal Asphalt, ensuring all dump trucks meet the highest standards of quality and safety.  This part-time position will operate alongside other mechanics and equipment operators under the direct daily supervision of the equipment service manager who provides guidance and feedback. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate fueling levels of dump trucks and lowboys
  • Responsible for recording mileage on MP Web.
  • Clean equipment as needed to aid in diagnostic evaluation and repairs.
  • Check tire pressures and lights on dump trucks and lowboys
  • Clean 1-3 vehicles daily (according to a checklist)
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards as determined by law, site requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain safe fueling practices
  • Check, change, and maintain equipment fluids
  • Operate and move trucks and equipment safely on the yard
  • Ensure all workspaces remain clean and free of hazards and debris at all times
  • Wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Perform tasks assigned by the supervisor

  • Must be able to work independently and without supervision as needed

  • Must utilize proper communication with co-workers, office personnel, customers and suppliers

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must possess a driving record that meets company standards
  • Must meet company employment requirements including but not limited to background checks
  • Must agree to adhere to Drug-Free Workplace requirements including pre-employment, post-accident, and random drug testing
  • Truck Tire experience is preferred
  • Must maintain a good attendance and safety record
  • Must have the ability to carry and lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach with hands and arms, crouch, climb and kneel as required
