ChrisJonesFishingAward blogCoastal Asphalt is proud to announce that our own Chris Jones helped South Carolina earn the top spot in the 2015 Old Milwaukee B.A.S.S. Nation Southern Divisional Championship.

The fishing tournament, held in April on the Pee Dee River Basin in Georgetown, S.C., included a competition between states. The combined catch of South Carolina’s team weighed at 288 pounds to capture first place. Alabama was second with 242 pounds and Georgia garnered third with 227 pounds.

“It was special to win an event of this size at home,” Jones said. “To have it here, in our backyard, it was special. It was truly a team effort.”

For taking the crown, the South Carolina team received a Triton 189 TRx rigged with Mercury outboard, Lowrance electronics and a MotorGuide trolling motor. The complete package is valued at $33,340.

Jones is a Salesperson and Estimator on our Coastal Asphalt team and his duties include developing new business and expanding current client relationships. He is a member of the Conway Bassmasters, is married to Misty, and has two children, Noah and Bailey.

SC CAI Dunes webIt was a fun and educational evening at the recent Community Governance and Covenant Compliance event hosted by the South Carolina Chapter of the Community Associations Institute at the Dunes Club in Myrtle Beach.

It’s always great to be able to see friends and learn more about the clients we serve!

This is just one of the events of the SC CAI that seeks to enhance property values and the quality of life in community associations in South Carolina by promoting leadership, excellence, and professionalism through education, communication, and resources.

Coastal Asphalt is proud to be a member of the CAI as well as be able to help sponsor these wonderful educational and social opportunities.

cefWe were pleased to be a sponsor of the 2015 Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) Dinner held March 21 in the Grand Ball Room of the Landmark Resort in Myrtle Beach.

The event is the chief fundraiser for CEF, whose mission it is to reach, disciple, and connect children to a local church.

The host committee for this year’s Fellowship Dinner were Horry County Auditor Lois Eargle, local radio personality Mike Green, North Myrtle Beach Mayor Marilyn Hatley, and Horry County Sheriff Phillip Thompson. The featured speaker was Gary Ezzo, founder and executive director of Growing Families International and author of “Growing Kids God’s Way” and “Parenting from the Tree of Life.”

It was an awesome dinner for a great cause. It is a great privilege to be able to partner with our local organizations to help reach children in our community.

A good time was had by all March 13 and 14 at a rodeo for high school students hosted by the S.C. High School Rodeo Association at RES-LES Farms in Conway, S.C.

Coastal Asphalt was proud to be one of the sponsors and was excited to help bring this type of event to young people in our area.

Our expert team at Coastal Asphalt recently prepared and paved the parking lot of the AT&T property on U.S. 17 in North Myrtle Beach. This short video does a great job of showing the outstanding quality of our work.

dustless blogCoastal Asphalt is now offering paint removal as part of our continued dedication to providing personalized and comprehensive services to our clients.

Our dustless blaster, shown here at a recent project at Tanger Outlets off U.S. 17 in Myrtle Beach, gives a quick and clean paint removal solution.

“This is just one of the many services we provide for our clients,” said Matt Winburn, Coastal Asphalt Vice President and Owner.

The paint on curbs and crosswalks, over time, chips away, fades, and requires repainting. As a result, paint builds up and creates a potential slip hazard.

Our dustless blaster helped to provide Tanger Outlets with an effective solution by completely removing the built-up paint. We then repainted the surface with skid-resistant paint to create a safe environment in which to shop.
